For my Jackson, Miss. folks, especially you pop-punk ones, you’re in for a treat next week.
Broadside is playing Big Sleepys on July 16. The Victory Records band released Old Bones on May 19 and it is a fun listen.
The five-piece probably feels like they have old bones after an old-school comeup, self-touring the road and hand-selling more than 1,500 EPs.
From a Victory release: “Every track on Old Bones represents an experience that every young adult can relate to. Vocalist Ollie Baxxter conveys his own personal dilemma with these scenarios in everything from burying a childhood friend to realizing you’re just a very small cog in an overworked machine. “I just wanted anyone listening to this record to have a moment where they simply relate and reflect on the words because they’ve been there or are currently in that head space”. Old Bones is just a raw confession of everyday struggles.”
Alternative Press called the band one of the “100 Bands You Need To Know In 2015.”
